How to make Numerously go fast

Even though the power of Numerously is truly realized when cells have names, enabling the sorting of information, the prompt can hinder doing this quickly.

Here are 4 tips to make things go faster or the fastest possible!

Disable Color Prompt

The default behaviour of Numerously is to slide in the Color Prompt when a new cell is created. This is intended to allow users to name and color their cells from the get-go. To shave off a few milliseconds, you can go into the Global Settings from the homepage and disable this.

You will still be able to edit colors at any time from any opened cell using the color icon in the top left.

Dictation

The typing process itself can be cumbersome, particularly in those instances when you are going one-handed. Numerously uses the standard Apple keyboard, so you can opt to use the dictation feature to simply narrate your cell name.

Once you’ve done this, you just need to tap the keyboard icon and then follow with DONE.

Just skip naming entirely

You don’t have to give your cells names. If you hit DONE without entering any characters, the cell is automatically named ‘untitled’ . Numerously automatically increments duplicate names to maintain unique cells.

When you are ready to add a name or description, Numerously recognizes ‘untitled’ cells, so when you tap on the title bar, everything gets automatically selected so you can instantly replace the name.

Behold – Instant Cell!

Instant Cell was designed specifically for rapid entry. Access it with a swipe-right. It is in the anchor position which allows you to do a long swipe-right to activate it, bypassing the need to tap on an icon.

The cells are given the default name of ‘instant cell’ and are given incremental suffixes to keep them unique.

With this feature, you can create and type in your calculation in seconds and move on to the next by hitting DONE or just tapping outside the open cell. Instant cell is particularly useful in scenarios where you have to quickly input number, like if someone was listing off

When you are ready to rename your instant cells, just like ‘untitled’ cells, tapping on the title bar will automatically selects all characters for a speedy text replace.
